Safari & Tours Overview

3 days safari to Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty and wildlife of Tanzania.

Here’s an overview of what you can expect from each park:

  • Arusha National Park: Located near the town of Arusha, this park is known for its diverse landscapes and rich wildlife. On your safari, you can explore the lush forests, picturesque lakes, and the imposing Mount Meru. Keep an eye out for animals like giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and various species of monkeys. Bird lovers will also be delighted by the numerous avian species found in the park.
  • Tarangire National Park: Situated in northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant herds and baobab trees. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to witness elephants, wildebeests, zebras, lions, and other predators. The park’s unique ecosystem and the Tarangire River attract a diverse range of wildlife, especially during the dry season when animals congregate near the water sources.
  • Ngorongoro Crater: One of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations, the Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a vast, volcanic caldera that provides a natural sanctuary for a wide array of animals. Inside the crater, you can spot the Big Five (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinoceros, and buffaloes) as well as hippos, zebras, gazelles, and an abundance of bird species. The breathtaking landscapes and the sheer concentration of wildlife make this a truly unforgettable experience.

Detailed Itinerary

After breakfast, you’ll depart from your Arusha or Moshi accommodations and drive to Arusha National Park.

After your entrance to the park, you will embark on a game drive through the park, passing landmarks such as the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater – sometimes known as ‘Little Ngorongoro’.

Also, your safari vehicle will pass under the Fig tree (Ficus thonningii) whose roots have grown to take the shape of an arch, large enough for a safari car (elephant size) to pass underneath.

During lunch, you will stop at a picnic site and then proceed with the game drive. At around four you will start leaving the national park for Arusha where you will spend the night.

You will depart for Tarangire National Park early in the morning and on arrival will begin exploring the enormous termite mounds and the ancient baobab trees as well as the diverse bird species and extensive population of elephants the park is renowned for.

There are regular sightings of lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffaloes, and mischievous baboons.

At around four you will depart from the national park and drive to Manyara for dinner and overnight.

You will have an early start to ensure that we complete the itinerary for the day which includes a magnificent game drive with a picnic lunch in the Ngorongoro Crater. Animals infrequently migrate in and out of the crater due to its elevated walls, which means you could spot every member of the big five in one day.

The big five comprise buffalo, elephants, rhinos, lions, and leopards. Some of the other wildlife that you can expect to see include zebras, hippos, wildebeest, and hyenas. The craters also feature an extensive bird population including geese, storks, and vultures.

You will be graced by the lovely flamingos on Soda Lake. Our guides are highly skilled and will impress you with their ability to track down animals. This is a skill that a book cannot teach you and that a selected few can perform. Your trip will come to an end in the late afternoon and you will proceed to Arusha city / Moshi town.
